Immerse yourself in a day of creativity with printmaker Jemma Gunning.

The morning will begin with a guided sketching session in the city, capturing urban textures, architectural forms, and fleeting moments. Jemma will lead a series of drawing exercises designed to spark observation and creativity, encouraging you to respond to the cityscape in your own unique way.

In the afternoon, we will return to the inspiring setting of the RWA studio. Here, you will transform your sketches into a series of expressive monoprints. Jemma will introduce you to experimental printmaking techniques, using your drawings as a foundation for bold, one-of-a-kind prints. This workshop is suitable for all levels, whether you’re new to drawing and printmaking or looking to deepen your practice. Come along and experience the joy of translating your surroundings into print.

You are welcome to bring a sketchbook, but we will also have some loose sheets of paper attached to clipboards available in the studio. Please wear clothes and footwear suitable for both a studio environment and for walking out-and-about - the group will meet initially at the RWA then head out locally. If the weather is hot, please remember to bring sun-cream, sunglasses and a water bottle. Warm layers will be needed if it's a cooler day. Please bring a bag for taking work home, bearing in mind it might still be a little wet.

Buying as a gift?

When buying a course or workshop you will be automatically emailed a confirmation which you can print off and include in a card for your loved one. Gift vouchers can also be bought if you aren't sure which course they would prefer. Please email us the name and email address of the person attending on drawingschool@rwa.org.uk

Participants must be 18 or over.

If eligible, discounts must be applied when first purchasing your class and cannot be given retrospectively. Please contact us if the discount code is not working.

If you have a disability, learning difficulty or mental health issue which you feel may affect your participation in your chosen class, please either email drawingschool@rwa.org.uk or call 07745694563, prior to booking, so we are aware of any needs you may have.

Refund/transfer and Cancellation Policy: We are unable to offer full or part cash refunds, but you are eligible for an RWA gift voucher or transfer, minus an admin fee*, provided you notify us more than 14 days before the start of your class. If we cancel a course or workshop for any reason, then participants will be offered a different date, course/workshop or RWA gift voucher.
