We are open Tuesday - Sunday: 10am – 5pm
Closed Mondays (except for spring and summer Bank Holidays, open 10am - 5pm)

Christmas Opening Hours 

We are closed Sunday, 24 December to Wednesday 27 December (inclusive)
Reopening: Thursday 28 December to Sunday 31 December (early closing 2pm)
Closed: Monday 1 January 2024
Resuming normal opening hours from Tuesday 2 January 2024

Due to events being held at the RWA, we sometimes need to close our upstairs galleries early: please see early closing days for details.

Ticket Prices 

While much of our building is free to visit, as an independent charity we rely on ticket income for our exhibitions to support our work.

Annual Art Pass: £15 (visit as many times as you wish for a full year)
Adult day ticket: £8.90 (includes optional 90p donation).
Concession* day ticket: £4.90 (includes optional 45p donation).

Entry is free for all under 21s and students (please bring student ID), as well as for all of our members, including the Friends of the RWA, and for returning RWA Art Pass Holders. Please be aware we only can only take card payments. 

*A concessionary rate is available for those on Job Seekers allowance.

Group Visits

We offer a discounted group rate for 10 or more visitors at £6.50 per person.  This can be paid in advance by bank transfer (contact info@rwa.org.uk for details) or on the day with payment on one card only please.

For Schools, Colleges and Learning Group visits please fill out the School Group Booking Form and return to info@rwa.org.uk.

Free-to-Access Areas

Entrance to Cafe, Family Activity Space, Shop, lower ground floor galleries and Kenny Gallery are free.Tickets are required for entrance to the main exhibition spaces on the first floor.
Due to space constrictions in the main ticketed exhibitions, we ask that rucksacks are either carried by hand to the side or stored away, rather than worn on the back. There are secure lockers available opposite the Welcome Desk on the ground floor, which require a £1 coin.

Accessible Parking

There is one accessible parking space at the RWA. This can be booked in advance of your visit by calling 0117 906 7632 or emailing info@rwa.org.uk and is subject to availability.

Minibus drop offs

Groups who need to get as close as possible to the entrance may be dropped off on the forecourt, but please note this should be by prior appointment by contacting our Visitor Experience Manager on 0117 906 7602. Minibuses can then park using the limited on-street parking nearby (pay and display). Please note tickets are required for the exhibition.
