Tutor - Jill Carter

2-day workshop

Saturday 30 May, 10.30am-4.30pm and Sunday 31 May 2026, 10.30am-3.30pm

This workshop draws inspiration from RWA exhibition Dance Out - the curator and painter David Remfry, Matisse and his love of scissors and human form, and contemporary artist Nana Mandl's approach to collage.

Liberate your creativity through exploring human expression, form and movement with playful figurative imagery.

Experiment with watercolours, paints, inks and papers; transforming graphic media, old drawings, paintings and textiles. Enjoy weaving together elements and text onto found material surfaces 2D and/or into 3D unique sculptural forms.

Be inspired by diverse experimental approaches to layered mixed media portraiture exploring narratives of well-being and personal expression.

Please wear clothes and footwear suitable for a studio environment, and bring a bag or portfolio for taking work home with you. We also encourage you to bring along any collage papers/materials - especially ephemera relating to dance, as this will be the main theme of the workshop.

Suitable for all abilities, including beginners.
