Waiting (A Portrait of the Artist's Wife)
date unknown
oil on canvas
Frederick George Swaish was a British artist whose work has been offered at auction multiple times. Only one artwork sold.
This artwork shows the artist's wife. We notice that there is a light around her and there is shadow around the edge of the painting. Perhaps this painting depicts the artist's love and respect for his wife. She is essentially his muse, the light in his darkness, here is the light that she emits around her and she looks so peaceful.
