Saturday 29 October 2022, 10.30am – 12.30pm

Bring along a photo of your pet or favourite animal and turn it into a beautiful character illustration.

In this workshop, artist Edward Richards will help you practice your skills of imaginative drawing and explore how photographs can be a useful tool in this process.

Edward will guide you through drawing your animal, first by creating a rough sketch and then thinking about the basic shapes that make up the animal leading you on to create your final pencil or pen and ink illustration with colour.

In the second half of the session, Edward will help you bring your illustrated animals to life with words. By the end of the session you will have produced a short piece of writing to accompany your illustration.
This workshop is suitable for children ages 7+

Limited places available - booking recommended.

Parents/Carers must remain in the building but are encouraged to enjoy the café, galleries and RWA shop while their children are in the workshop. Parents/Carers will receive complimentary exhibition entry.
