Grandad - The brief we were given was 'Inside Outside In-between', from this I decided to look at mental health within the elderly. This drawing is an honest portrait of my grandad, who has dementia. The vacant expression behind his eyes really tells the story within this portrait, illustrating his loss of memory and vulnerability. 

Grandad 2 (Pencil and Photo Transfer on Board) - I continued to look into mental health within the elderly in more detail. I specifically researched dementia. This is a very personal topic as my grandad suffers from it. I wanted to create a piece of art that showed his life as a young boy, young man, an engineer, husband, dad and grandad, and the way his memories are now fading quickly.
