Spotlight on Academicians - Maxine Relton RWA

The RWA is delighted to present an autumn series of talks focusing on our RWA Academicians. We are excited to introduce a spotlight talk on Maxine Relton RWA, in conversation with Hamish Young VPRWA. 

Maxine was elected to the RWA in 2006, has served on the Exhibition Committee and the Board of Trustees and continues to exhibit widely. She is based in Gloucestershire where she has a 3-storey gallery of her work and is a Senior Visiting Tutor at West Dean College in Sussex where she runs a variety of courses. She also leads sketching trips in the UK and overseas and will be bringing a selection of her sketchbooks to share with the audience attending this event. 

“Although drawing plays a central role in all my work, I like to re-cast ideas in a wide variety of art forms, moving between painting, printmaking, photography, poetry and 3D work as a way of questioning and reshaping my perceptions. It helps me towards a better understanding of the world around me”
