This measured drawing shows 4000-6000 London Stock Bricks, each is 21 x 102.5 x 6.5 mm. It depicts the internal elevation of St Mark's Hamilton Terrace, London, a Gothic Revival church built in 1846-47 and damaged by fire in 2023. With plaster on its wall removed, the bricks, seepage, and traces of alteration were exposed.
The site was inaccessible because of structural instability. By consulting specialists and archaeologists, I drew a digital line elevation and printed it. Then I used fine pens and mechanic pencils to draw over to give a texture. 150 hours of work were spent to record the "surfaces, blemishes and undulations".
This drawing was to develop a conservation design for my Y3 study at Kingston University. It was a finalist of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) KRob Competition 2024 and exhibited in the Royal Scottish Academy (RSA) Annual Exhibition 2025.
