22 April - 23 April 2023

Throughout March young artists from Hillcrest Primary School, Barton Hill Academy and The Dolphin School collaborated with artist Jasmine Thompson to create energetic artworks highlighting the importance of our natural world as part of the Art Fund's project, The Wild Escape.

Drawing inspiration from work in the RWA permanent collection, Whiting and Prawns by Robert Organ (b.1933), the primary school pupils aged 7-11 explored the future of our oceans and what the waters might look like if the damage caused by the climate crisis is reversed or continued.

Across Earth Day weekend (22nd - 23rd April), these vibrant and thoughtful artworks will be displayed on the RWA forecourt to showcase the young artist's work and to inspire conversation about our relationship with the environment.

The Wild Escape is made possible by lead support from Arts Council England’s National Lottery Project Grants, with additional support from Art Fund and a group of generous individuals and trusts.
