3 May - 6 May 2024

This bank holiday weekend visit our forecourt to view vivid and expressive flags that have been created in collaboration with local community groups as part of the “Flag Up Your Identity” project for DIASPORA! festival (3-6 May).

DIASPORA! is an arts festival for Bristol and the South West, which celebrates the diversity of our city and aims to showcase and better reflect the variety of talent within the region’s cultural communities.

These flags made by community group members celebrate their heritage, culture, dreams, experiences and identity.

Flags created by:

Refugee Women of Bristol, Easton

Dhek Bhal, Barton Hill

Evergreen Elders, Easton

GRT families, Ashton Vale

Scribble and Sketch at Easton Christian Family Centre

Scribble and Sketch at Faithspace, Redcliffe

Scribble and Sketch at Hartcliffe Nursery and Children's Centre

Scribble and Sketch at the Greenway Centre, Southmead

Special thanks to artists Isra Elhag, Brandy Rotaru, Rhona Oughton, Seekan Hui, Victoria Willmott and Abbi Bayliss for facilitating the workshops and supporting the community group members – and to our amazing sewing volunteers, Jane, Jane B and Pat for helping stitch everything together.
