Curator Bank - Mentoring support for South West artists

We are pleased to share that we are collaborating with Visual Arts South West as part of their new initiative, Curator Bank, which will offer mentoring support to artists in the South West.

Curator Bank offers one-to-one meetings with the people who build exhibition programmes, commission new work, acquire for collections and champion emerging voices.

Dr Kathryn Johnson, Head of Exhibitions, will join curators from 20 other major visual arts organisations in the South West - this includes Bristol Museum and Gallery, Watershed, Arnolfini and Weston-super-Mare's Super Culture.

The initiative will unlock over 450 hours of free support that will cover areas that include:

● Contemporary exhibition development

● Museum acquisition

● Experimental digital platforms

● Community and socially-engaged practice

There is no competitive selection; after an initial process to match people with similar areas of interest, randomised software will be used to ensure equal access. If you’re not successful for this round, you can be automatically put forward for the next round or be connected with another artist for peer-to-peer support.

How to apply

Apply online via Visual Arts South West's website. Link

The deadline for applications is 30 June.
