1-day workshop

Saturday 7 November 2026, 10.30am - 4.30pm

A new opportunity to explore figures in dynamic poses in watercolour. We will follow a series of twisting, leaning and lunging poses that capture the multiple shapes the human body makes when on the move. Come prepared to experiment, allowing fluid mark-making and wet-in-wet techniques to inject life into your subjects. 

Discover for yourself how pigment behaves when dropped in water on a tilted surface. Try using rigid watercolour artboard. Build vigorous washes and animated watermarks for tonal variation. Contrast these with flashes of white paper and thick tubed pain before lifting pigment and reviewing our work for take-home tips. There will be demos and discussion with questions invited throughout the day.

All basic materials provided, although we would encourage you to bring your own watercolours and brushes if you have them. Suitable for those with some previous figure drawing/painting experience.

Please bring an apron or wear clothes suitable for an art studio, and bring a bag suitable for taking your work home.

Participants must be 18 or over.

If eligible, discounts must be applied when first purchasing your class and cannot be given retrospectively. Please contact us if the discount code is not working.

Refund/transfer and Cancellation Policy: We are unable to offer full or part cash refunds, but you are eligible for an RWA gift voucher or transfer, minus an admin fee*, provided you notify us more than 14 days before the start of your class with us. If we cancel a course or workshop for any reason, then participants will be offered a different date, course/workshop or RWA gift voucher. 

*Admin fee for courses £25, Admin fee for workshops £15
