An exhibition of work by Academician Robert Hurdle.
Robert Hurdle studied painting at the Richmond School of Art continuing his studies at Camberwell School of Art after the war. He has exhibited with The London Group and on several occasions at the Leicester Galleries London.
In 1950 he moved to Bristol to take a teaching post at the West of England College of Art. He was a Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Fine Art, Bristol Polytechnic until 1980. He has also lectured in Art History in the Extra-mural Department at Bristol University.
He has held several solo exhibitions, the City Art Gallery Bristol in 1977, the Kiln Gallery Farnham in 1983 and Pelter Sands Gallery Bristol in 1985 to name but a few. His paintings are in numerous collections such as Bristol University, the Clerical and Medical Bristol Headquarters, the Corporate Advisory Partnership London and University College Swansea amongst others.
