Sound of the Earth Exhibition
9 Aug – 4 Sep 2022
A free exhibition of varied art forms to inspire and intrigue all visitors.
This exhibition looks at creative perspectives on the theme of earth from the artists' life experiences coming from different lands. There are many common stories, but each also has a unique, strong and colourful message.
The mixed media artworks have been created by BRAC – Bristol Refugee Artists Collective. They are a group of refugee artists living in Bristol, working together since 2018. This exhibition came out of a year-long partnership project between the RWA and BRAC. In 2021 the BRAC artists undertook exciting creative professional development workshops with guest artists on painting, photography, poetry, sculpture, calligraphy, curation and critiquing. RWA commissioned this exhibition of new work as part of the project.
This exhibition runs alongside our major exhibition, Earth: Digging Deep in British Art 1781 - 2022 (ticketed). Entrance to the Cafe, Family Activity Space and Kenny Gallery are free. This exhibition can be accessed without an exhibition ticket.
