The RWA has a fascinating history of growth and renewal. It opened in 1858 as Bristol's first public art gallery. This exhibition shows how the RWA has developed as a 'home for art' over more than 100 years. It reveals some of the secrets of the building and tells the little-known stories of refugee artists who exhibited at the RWA from the 1940s to today, including Stanislaw Frenkiel and Chien-Ying Chang.
This exhibition is a free exhibition in the Link Space on the lower ground floor.
