Together, these works demonstrate how the smallest gestures can sometimes hold the biggest voices, revealing the power of intimacy, focus, and imagination.

Curator Pennie Elfick RWA invited her fellow Academician artists to explore their ideas within the physical constraints of four 24 x 24 cm panels and one 24 x 24 cm shelf. Within these modest limits, and with no other theme, each artist was encouraged to develop an idea in whichever medium felt most relevant. Their work could be a sketch, painting, drawing, sculpture, or simply a fragment of a larger thought.

The small scale became a site for experimentation — a place to test, question, and play with ideas.
