As an exhibiting artist, you are invited to attend Varnishing Day from 2 – 4 pm on Friday 11 September 2026.   
 
Varnishing Day is a long-held tradition in Royal Academies and is a moment for exhibiting artists to celebrate their work as part of a first view before the opening celebrations. During this event we also celebrate the appointment of our 2026 Academicians. 

Due to the popularity of this event booking is essential. Please note that only exhibiting artists can attend Varnishing Day.
