Make Abstract Textile Flowers

This workshop is inspired by artist Alice Kettle’s The Queens of Somerset House. You will learn how to make abstract textile flowers using old fabric scraps.

Suitable for ages 7 and up, the workshop takes about an hour.

You will need: A4 paper, old fabric scraps, glue, scissors, embroidery threads (multiple colours), and coloured pencils.

Thanks to Ellie Oldham-Green, who created this workshop during the 2025 SGS Work Placement at the RWA.
