Nigel Casseldine

Nigel Casseldine studied as a studio assistant with F.V. Magrath while attending part time at Camberwell and then John Cass colleges.
He has since exhibited at the Royal Academy, the Edinburgh Festival, Bath Festival, Alresford Gallery and has had 10 one man shows at the Medici Gallery as well as exhibiting regularly at the Royal West of England Academy.

His subject matter comprises landscape and still life with emphasis on atmospheric, light and colour. His illustration career has involved diverse publications including travel books and architectural guides. His paintings are represented in the Cheltenham and Gloucester Collection of Twentieth Century Paintings, the permanent collection of the Royal West of England Academy and the private collection of the Marquis of Bath.

Commenting on key influences on his work he writes:
'Within the growth of any painter there must be a kaleidoscope of influences. My own began at about twelve years with my first contact with Turner.'
