Professor Martin Parr

Martin Parr is a documentary photographer who has produced over 120 books and is a member of the Magnum cooperative. In 2017 he opened the Martin Parr Foundation in Bristol ,which is a showcase for documentary photography shot in Britain and Ireland. The Foundation has an extensive library and collection of prints.
Parr has photographed all around the world , but has shot more in the UK than anywhere else. Here he has explored the contradiction found in society, in full bright colours and a sense of irony.
