Lucinda Burgess

Lucinda Burgess is a London born, (1962), British artist. She studied at Edinburgh College of Art, Bath Academy of Art, Goldsmiths, University of London and Bath School of Art and Design. 

She has exhibited internationally for many years with recent solo exhibitions in China (Beijing, 2025) and Germany (Stuttgart and Cologne, 2023) following solo shows at Black Swan Gallery (Frome, 2022) and Newlyn Art Gallery (2019), and two-man shows in London at Bartha Contemporary and RaumX (2021). 

She was winner of the Porthleven Prize (2014), shortlisted for the Jerwood Drawing Prize, (2017), the Aesthetica Art Prize (2019),  and the Derwent Drawing Prize, (2024). She won the 2024 Royal West of England Academy Drawing Prize and became an Academician there, (2025). She has won several residencies including a fully funded Albers Foundation residency (2025).

She is represented by Bartha contemporary, London and Space of Time Gallery, Beijing.
