Emily is a Lettering Artist based in Gloucestershire. Her lettering work covers a broad range of mediums, both digital and physical; from large-scale murals to logotypes, and type design to calligraphy. Emily works as a freelancer for commercial clients and alongside design studios and advertising agencies as a lettering specialist, crafting beautiful letters by hand. She is an experienced teacher, hosting workshops covering traditional calligraphy, 3-Dimensional lettering, composition, and painting murals.

Emily has always been interested in lettering, from the days of creating 'bubble writing' for posters at school. It wasn't until 2013 that she realised that her lettering passion could be a feasible career path, and something that she could specialise in from her broader Graphic Design background. At this point she started documenting her lettering work on social media and began experimenting with different types of tools to create letters; from brushes and parallel pens to dip pens and nibs. After purchasing an iPad with a Pencil in 2015, she delved into ProCreate software and has never looked back. Whilst still experimenting digital mediums, Emily believes that most projects benefit from starting with a simple pencil and paper; no fancy tools or equipment. 

With a deep understanding of letterforms, Emily has been able to create her own fonts - taking elements of her own lettering and expanding the styles into full lettersets, which are available to purchase. This is an ongoing passion project which she looks to continue throughout her career.
