Ana Carolina Rodrigues

Ana Carolina is an artist and tutor whose practice spans installation, video, sound, sculpture, painting, drawing, and community based projects. She has a BA from the University of Fine Arts in Lisbon and an MA from Chelsea College of Arts.

Recent drawings show images of the land that carries the spirits of her family. This land has changed immensely in the last few decades and she tries to depict this change. She draws trees that were burnt by a fire, a stream that has stopped running, dry flowers and weeds.

She has been awarded grants from UAL | Clifford Chance sculpture award and the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea award for a community based project which included a sound, visual and ecological, research journey in the Panamanian rainforest. This research resulted in an exhibition, workshops, a series of podcasts written about plants, healing and hope, that were streamed on Resonance FM, and a singing event in North Kensington.

She is represented by Alex Serra Gallery in Germany and Banana Jam studio in China.
Ana Carolina teaches at Chelsea College of Arts and Royal West of England Academy.
