We are excited to announce Boomsatsuma as our future education provider at Queens Road, in Bristol.  

Over the coming months, we will work with Boomsatsuma, combining our heritage and a joint passion for the arts, to create an education and learning offer for Bristol and the region.  

As part of this move, we will reimagine the use of space in the building including bringing the historic Life Room back into public use.

SGS College is proud of our stewardship of this prestigious institution and the contribution we make to creative education across the region. We are now looking forward to shaping the next chapter for Bristol School of Art. We are currently exploring options for its future home with our students, staff, alumni and wider creative community and look forward to sharing details in due course”

On the new tenancy, Mark Curtis, CEO at Boomsatsuma shared that:

“This is an important and exciting development for Boomsatsuma, and we are very much looking forward to becoming part of the RWA community. Our appointment brings together one of the country’s oldest and most respected art institutions with one of the region’s most progressive creative education providers.  We are proud to have been selected and look forward to working closely with the RWA to co-create a new vision for art education at Queens Road.”  

The current tenant, SGS, who runs its Bristol School of Art from the site, will vacate Queens Road when its tenancy comes to an end in the summer of 2028.  With two full academic years remaining with SGS as a tenant, there will be no immediate changes to teaching or day-to-day activities on campus.
