The fuss-free, contemporary menu at The Epiphany focuses on high-quality, locally-sourced and seasonal ingredients, treated with love and care.
The cafe is the brainchild of Bristol’s top barista Alex Zeal and queen of cakes, Bethen Reid, and serves locally-sourced lunches, tempting cakes and award-winning coffee.
Lunches include a selection of frittatas, tarts, wraps and salads, plus warm, Hobbs bread sandwiches, generously filled with top ingredients like Portobello mushroom, mozzarella, red onion pickle and olive tapenade.
Bethen’s cakes and sweets (or gourmandises) are inspired by memories and recipes passed down by her grandmother. Granny Grenouille’s tarte aux cerises, the gorgeously oozing Baccara Moelleux, plum and strawberry madeleines and a selection of friands, flavoured with pistachio, matcha, blueberry, orange and dark chocolate, are not to be missed.
Every Sunday, the menu features a star ingredient that is grown or produced by one of the pair’s many foodie friends. The tarte tatin, made from rhubarb grown on an allotment in Easton, and the soup that uses courgettes and peas from a garden in the Forest of Dean, illustrates Alex and Bethen’s commitment to local fare, cooked with care.
As home to Bristol’s premier barista, The Epiphany at the RWA specialises in world-class coffee. The Epiphany also serves a hand-picked selection of wines, locally-brewed artisan beers and Canton teas.
