Starts Thursday 13 January 2022

This class will be taking place in person at Hamilton House. Click HERE for more information about Hamilton House. If government restrictions prevent this, due to Covid, this course will take place on Zoom.

Drawing from a model and various live animals – including dogs and a bird of prey, as well as masks and costumes – you will explore how artists represent the very ancient relationship between man and beast. A range of techniques for drawing from life will be introduced, each session taking inspiration from art history, crossing continents and millennia. With live animals in some sessions, please expect an exciting, unpredictable experience - part of the challenge will be learning techniques for capturing movement!

All basic materials provided for this course. Please bring an apron or wear clothes suitable for an art studio. As wet media may be used in some sessions, you may wish to bring a plastic bag or portfolio for taking wet work home.

This class will be taking place at Hamilton House, 80 Stokes Croft, Bristol BS1 3QY.
