Tutor - Janet Haigh
Friday 3 December, 10.30am - 4.30pm
This class will be taking place in person at Hamilton House. Click HERE for more information about Hamilton House. If government restrictions prevent this, due to Covid, this workshop will take place on Zoom.
Create lively and spontaneous drawings inspired by photographic imagery of gardens. Build confidence in drawing directly in colour, using a range of pencils and pastels. The focus will be developing loose drawings inspired by photographic material. Rather than seek to reproduce photographic imagery in its entirety, participants will extract details to build up designs or working drawings which could later be developed into larger projects or used for different media. This introduces a process which helps to identify and develop individual stylistic strengths, opening up exciting new directions in which to take your work.
Please bring a sketchbook and feel free to bring your own garden or botanical photographs/magazines to work from, although the tutor will have a personal selection of imagery for you to be inspired by, and examples of this method as used in her own work. All drawing materials provided.
This class will be taking place at Hamilton House, 80 Stokes Croft, Bristol BS1 3QY.
