12 and 13 Jul 2022 | 2 day

Tutor - Sophie Howard
Tuesday 12 and Wednesday 13 July 2022, 10am-4pm
Using the medium of terracotta clay to complement the RWA's leading exhibition Earth: Digging Deep in British Art 1781 - 2022 (9 July – 11 September 2022), in the two days, you will learn how to build a clay sculpture based on the dynamic and streamlined poses of the model.
With two alternating poses, participants will make figurative clay sculptures, and prepare your work for firing. All tools and materials are supplied, although we recommend bringing any of your own tools if you have them. There will also be an option to have sculptures fired at a later point for a small fee but you will have to arrange your own transportation of your sculpture.
Please bring something to take your work home in on the last day, and wear clothes and footwear suitable for a studio environment using clay.
Please note, participants may need to wear face coverings for the duration of the sessions. The RWA is able to provide a free visor for those who prefer them.
Venue
This class will be taking place at the RWA Drawing School Studio, Royal West of England Academy, BS8 1PX
