The course provides practical guidance covering a range of exercises aimed at improving composition, accuracy and observation, with a view to producing expressive and characterful drawings in pencil and charcoal. Portraiture will be studied in the context of full-length figure drawing. Students will establish a solid foundation in drawing from a life model. For 8 of the 10 weeks, you will be drawing from either a male or female model. For 2 sessions, you will draw portraits of yourself and fellow participants.

Some previous drawing experience is helpful, or a willingness to have a go!

There will be a half term break on 12 February, with classes resuming on 19 February.

Participants must be 16 or over.

Refund/transfer and Cancellation Policy: We are unable to offer full or part cash refunds, but you are eligible for an RWA gift voucher or transfer, provided you notify us more than 14 days before the start of your class with us. If we cancel a course or workshop for any reason, then participants will be offered a different date, course/workshop or RWA gift voucher.
