Fridays, 10am - 3pm | 3 weeks

Starts Friday 5 November 2021

This class will be taking place in person at Hamilton House. Click HERE for more information about Hamilton House. If government restrictions prevent this, due to Covid, this course will take place on Zoom.

Create your own paintings inspired by Canadian landscapes, in the style of Emily Carr, Tom Thomson and Peter Doig. In the first two sessions we will examine a variety of oil painting techniques using inspiration from our chosen artists. We will explore colour mixing, using thin layers of paint as well as experimenting with a thick, palette knife style.

In the final session we will develop our own composition in response to their styles from our own source material.

This class is suitable for all abilities and will be an enjoyable chance to experiment with oil paint. Basic materials provided, although we recommend bringing your own brushes if you have them. You will need to bring an apron/overalls and a plastic bag for taking wet work home at the end of the sessions.

This class will be taking place at Hamilton House, 80 Stokes Croft, Bristol BS1 3QY.
