Woodblock print offers an enormous range of artistic possibilities through an exciting and hands-on process. In this two day introduction, learn how to design, cut and print a multiple-block colour woodcut. Beginners or more advanced participants are welcome. Rod Nelson has extensive experience as a woodblock printmaker and teacher, having taught for many years at West Dean College.

All basic materials are provided, though you may wish to bring your own tools if you have them, and it can be helpful to bring some inspirational imagery with you or give some thought to the kind of designs you would like to cut beforehand. Please wear an apron or clothes and footwear suitable for a studio environment and a bag suitable for taking wet work home with you. If you wish to purchase additional woodblock, you can do so directly from the tutor.
