Tutor - Stewart Geddes PPRWA

Saturday 16, 10.30am - 4.30pm and Sunday 17 January 2021, 11am - 4pm

This class will be taking place in the SGS college Life room. If government restrictions prevent this, then the class will continue on Zoom.

Develop techniques and a conceptual framework toward making improvised paintings, using acrylic paint and working from A4 to A1 size. Starting with the blank rectangle, you will be encouraged to generate a ‘conversation’ with the painting surface, by activating it with a diverse range of marks and gestures.  From this improvised dialogue, you will ultimately identify a ‘surprising’ outcome. Colour will be used strategically, and considering what sensations/ideas/narratives it communicates in conjunction with gesture and pictorial space.
