Taking inspiration from the work of our 169 Annual Open Exhibition invited artist, Matthew Burrows MBE, artist Maria Faiomy invites you to join us for a workshop exploring abstract shapes and patterns through the art of embroidery.

Taking place inside our beautiful gallery space, families can explore the work in the 169 Annual Open Exhibition, including the work of Matthew Burrows, for inspiration. Maria will guide you through sketching your design onto fabric, then using coloured thread to create your embroidered masterpiece.

Anyone can enter work into the RWA Annual Open Exhibitions, all of the art featured has been chosen by a selection panel. As usual this year includes painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, film, sculpture and illustration by artists ranging from leading professionals, including RWA Academicians, to emerging talent, from across the UK and beyond.

This workshop is suitable for children ages 7+.

Limited places available - booking recommended.

Parents/Carers must remain with their children for the duration of the session. Accompanying adults will receive complimentary exhibition entry.
