A structured course for those wishing to develop paintings and drawings over a whole day. Working from a range of subjects, participants will explore the technical, practical, intuitive and expressive qualities of paint and colour and their relationship to drawing. Students will develop their practice through a series of exercises and across a range of materials, creating work which reflects their own interests and direction. Some previous experience of drawing and painting is required.
This class is due to continue for another 5 weeks from 24 February.

Participants must be 16 or over.
All students are required to wear a facemask. We do have clear plastic visors for sale at £1.50, which some students find preferable. Those who have an age, health or disability reason to not wear a face covering please email email@example.com before your class. There will be a maximum of 6 participants per class, to allow for social distancing. Please read through our full safety precautions here.
If eligible, discounts must be applied when first purchasing your class and cannot be given retrospectively. Please contact us if the discount code is not working.
All basic materials provided for this course. Please bring an apron or wear clothes suitable for an art studio. You may wish to bring in something to take work home.
If you have a disability, learning difficulty or mental health issue which you feel may affect your participation in your chosen class, please either email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 0117 906 7606, prior to booking, so we are aware of any needs you may have. If you need to bring a Carer or Support Worker with you to the class, please inform us when enrolling so we can make arrangements. The RWA has disabled access through its main entrance and level access to the shop on the Ground Floor. There is lift access to the Main Galleries on the First Floor as well as access to the Long Gallery and accessible toilet on the Lower Ground Floor. Refund and Cancellation Policy: If we are unable to hold a course or workshop in the drawing school as a result of an external factor outside of our control, such as a new lockdown, we will endeavour to provide an online version or similar at the same time, by the Tutor and will not provide an alternative. We will only provide a refund if this is not possible e.g a Sculpture course. In the case that you have COVID-19 symptoms, you would not be able to attend the class, we can offer an RWA gift voucher. If we cancel a course or workshop for another reason, such as tutor sickness, then participants will be offered a different date, course/workshop or RWA gift voucher.
