Conversation and Critique
21 May 2022 | 1 day
Tutor - Stewart Geddes PPRWA
Saturday 21 May 2022, 10.30am - 4.30pm
This class will be taking place in person at The RWA Drawing School Studio at the Royal West of England Academy. If government restrictions prevent this, due to Covid, this course will take place on Zoom.
Join artist Stewart Geddes PPRWA, and Associate Lecturer at University of Gloucester and Bournemouth Arts University, for a day of critical thinking and discussion around your existing artistic practice. The content of the session will be a full day of group critique, led by Stewart - a format regularly and successfully used in art college and university settings to help artists recognise their creative strengths and drive their work forward in new and exciting directions. This is not a practical art making session, rather an opportunity to bring a selected portfolio of your work in to the studio and for it to be subject to dedicated discussion and feedback. Participants will be encouraged to contribute to the debate throughout the day.
Artists working across a range of media (i.e. not just painting), including 3-dimensional work are all welcome to attend this class. However, we would ask that you are mindful of scale when selecting works to bring - it will not be possible to accommodate large scale works. Please bring no more than 6 works with you, which could include sketchbooks. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions before booking.
