Do you have a specific project, query, or aim that you would like to discuss with a professional working artist?\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe RWA is offering the opportunity to meet with a group of RWA Academicians.  Over the course of an hour, you will have a 20-minute advice session with each of the following Academicians - Hamish Young PRWA, Jessa Fairbrother RWA and Sian Bonnell RWA. Please review the below information carefully before booking\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFind out more about our Academicians \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.rwa.org.uk\/pages\/browse-academicians\"\u003ehere\u003c\/a\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eHow does it work? \u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eYou will be situated in the Youngwood Room at the RWA with two other participants, and will move between three Academicians for 20 minutes at a time, allowing you to gain unique insight and expert advice from three experienced practitioners. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eWhat can you expect in our portfolio review sessions?  \u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cul\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eA general introduction and agreement of aims for the meeting\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eAn opportunity to present your portfolio, project or query and discuss this.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eFeedback to support you developing the work discussed.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eAn opportunity to discuss the feedback.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eA verbal summary of key points and suggested actions.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003c\/ul\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eHow should you prepare? \u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOrganise the Portfolio:\u003cbr\u003e•    Select a cohesive set of works that best represent your skills and style.\u003cbr\u003e•    Arrange the pieces in a logical order, possibly thematically or chronologically.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePrepare Explanations:\u003cbr\u003e•    Be ready to discuss the intention, inspiration, and process behind each piece.\u003cbr\u003e•    Think about any specific areas where feedback is needed.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eResearch the Academicians: \u003cbr\u003e•    Familiarise yourself with the Academician’s work.\u003cbr\u003e•    Prepare thoughtful questions related to the Academician’s expertise and experience.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSet Goals:\u003cbr\u003e•    Define what you hope to achieve from the session.\u003cbr\u003e•    Think about long-term career goals and how the feedback can help you achieve them.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBe Open:\u003cbr\u003e•    Approach the session with an open mind, ready to receive constructive feedback.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eIf you can no longer attend a session, please try to let us know at least 1 week in advance by emailing artists@rwa.org.uk so we can offer your place to someone else.
