Ros Ford VPRWA: Etchings of Bristol, Pembrokeshire and Venice

Ros Ford VPRWA, RE exhibits a range of her work from monumental prints depicting overlooked landscapes and structures to smaller scale images of  Venice.

Ford draws on location where she documents and absorbs the essence and vitality of a place. She then develops these sketches at her studio in Bristol.

Her large work often uses an imaginary viewpoint and she subtly distorts the image to include otherwise hidden aspects of the location. Each work develops slowly, often over months or years. Ford’s use of copper and steel etching plates to make the prints reflect the industrial nature of her subject.

Ford’s last trip overseas was a six-week Fellowship in Venice from the Scuola Internazionale di Grafica in conjunction with the RE (Royal Society of Painter Printmakers). There she experimented with new ideas, formats and techniques.

Ford regularly exhibits in the RA Summer Exhibition. Her prints, drawings and paintings are exhibited and held in public and private collections in the UK and Internationally.
