St Paul's Learning Centre: Saturday 9 and 23 Oct, 10am-12.30pm | FREE
Artists Jessie and Maria will guide you through making a collaborative and individual textile artworks that focus on landscape and 'place', which are the themes of Varekai (Wherever) the RWA Pop-up Exhibition.
The collaborative textile artwork will be based on a tradition in Sudan of women artists working together to embellish a stretched piece of plain fabric with stitching, fabric paint, beads, gems and all sorts of decorations. The youngest children can finger paint onto it, and those who want to can sew or stick decorative materials on. Parents are encouraged to join in too. Individual pieces can be taken home.
There will also be a very simple collage activity and some fun mask making, both relating to the lead image of circus performers.
A great workshop for brightening up your summer holiday!
Suitable for all ages. Parents must remain in the building and are encouraged to join in.
