Ann Scampton
1933-2024
Ann Scampton was a Council Member and Trustee of the Architects Benevolent Society, a post she held since 1992. She was also Chairman of the Royal Institute of British Architects South West Region during the 1970's and the President of the Bristol and Somerset Society of Architects during the same decade.
She exhibited at the RWA Annual Exhibitions and acknowledged the impact of architecture on her work. Frank Lloyd Wright and Lutyens are architects whose influences she cited. Bernard Dunstan, Willis Page and James Michie are the painters and etchers she saw as influential and Bruce Chatwin in the media of photography and film.
