Your Visit

The RWA is located in the heart of Bristol and is open throughout the year, Tuesday to Saturday 10am-6pm, Sunday 11am-5pm. We are normally closed on Mondays, but are open for all spring and summer Bank Holiday Mondays (11am-5pm), and are open throughout the Easter weekend, including Good Friday and Easter Sunday.

Please note that the exhibition 'Air' ends on 3 September 2017 and that the upstairs galleries will then be closed until Sunday 1 October, when our 165th Annual Open Exhibition opens to the public.  The shop and cafe remain open, along with an exhibition of work by 'Bristol's artist' Barrington Tabb RWA and works by Academician candidates (free admission to both exhibitions).

Our main exhibitions are held upstairs in our beautiful, purpose-built galleries, described by art critic Andrew Lambirth as 'a jewel in the crown of England's exhibiting venues'.

RWA staff provide tours of each exhibition at 12.15pm from Tuesday to Friday (and sometimes also at weekends), starting on the second Tuesday of each exhibition, which is included in the ticket price.  We are also happy to provide a welcome talk for pre-booked visiting groups of 12 or more - please phone or email us to book your visit.

The listed building offers disabled access throughout, with level access to the Shop on the ground floor, and there is lift access to all of the Galleries and to our accessible toilet on the lower floor. A manually operated wheelchair is also available to borrow during your visit.

An accessible parking bay is located outside the building, on the forecourt. Please call the Welcome Desk in advance of your visit to book the space, or email info@rwa.org.uk. The RWA welcomes guide and assistance dogs, but we regret that we cannot allow other dogs into the building.

The RWA staff and volunteer team are available to assist you during your visit. Please call the Welcome Desk for any specific requirements or accessibility questions.
