Getting here

The RWA is located in the academic heart of Bristol and within easy reach the city's main attractions, shopping areas and major motorway links. You will find the building on Queen's Road, Clifton (where Queen's Road meets Whiteladies Road), opposite the University of Bristol Victoria Rooms. 

By Public Transport 
The nearest mainline railway station to the RWA is Bristol Temple Meads. A local train service runs from Bristol Temple Meads to Clifton Down station, which is a 10 minute walk from the RWA. For times and information please visit the National Rail Enquiries website. 

Buses run from Bristol Temple Meads to the RWA. Numbers 8 and 9 run a constant service to within 100 yards of the RWA. If you are traveling by coach, the nearest drop off point is Bristol Bus Station, Broadmead. Once at the Bus Station, you are able to catch buses 1, 2, 8, 9, 41, 42, 43  from the other side of the roundabout (via the pedestrian subway) to Queens Road.

Bristol Insight is Bristol's sightseeing tour bus operator, offering open top bus trips to major attractions across the city. Tours stop outside the Victoria Rooms, opposite the RWA. Present your ticket at the RWA Welcome Desk to receive 2 for 1 entry to exhibitions.

By Road

The RWA is easily reached from the M4 and M5. 

From M4 - Leave M4 at junction 19 onto M32 sign-posted Bristol. Keep forward (signposted City Centre). Continue forward onto Newfoundland Way - A4032 (signposted City Centre). At traffic lights turn right onto Bond Street - A4044. At St James Barton roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Marlborough Street B4051. Continue forward onto Perry Road and Park Row. Continue forward onto Triangle South - A4018. Bear left onto Queen’s Road - A4018 (signposted Clifton). The RWA is opposite the Victoria Rooms. Please refer to the map for car parking facilities, both car parks are less than 10 minutes by foot.

From M5 (northbound) - Leave the M5 at junction 18 (northbound) sign-posted Bristol, Avonmouth and Docks. Entering Avonmouth - Keep in left hand lane (signposted Bristol and Airport). At roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Portway - A4 (signposted Bristol). Continue forward onto Portway - A4. At traffic signals (signposted Clifton, The Downs) turn left onto Bridge Valley Road - A4176. After passing Bristol Zoo on the right, turn right onto Pembroke Road - B4467. At the roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Queens Road - B3129. The RWA is opposite Victoria Rooms. The RWA is opposite the Victoria Rooms. From M5 (southbound) - Leave the M5 at junction 15 (signposted London and Bristol M32) and join M4 (eastbound). Leave M4 at junction 19 onto M32 sign-posted Bristol. Keep forward (signposted City Centre). Continue forward onto Newfoundland Way - A4032 (signposted City Centre). At traffic lights turn right onto Bond Street - A4044. At St James Barton roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Marlborough Street B4051. Continue forward onto Perry Road and Park Row. Continue forward onto Triangle South - A4018. Car Parking
There are two multi-storey car parks within ten minutes’ walk of the RWA - West End (Berkeley Place), BS8 1EH and Trenchard Street, BS1 5AN - plus limited on-street parking nearby.

Both car parks are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Cycling
Bristol is cycle safe city. There are racks for bikes located next to the RWA and on the other side of the street, near Waitrose..
