What is the Annual Open Exhibition?
Like its London counterpart’s Summer Exhibition, the Royal West of England Academy’s Annual Open Exhibition (now in its 164th year) is a key date in the calendar for artists and collectors alike. As the name suggests, anyone can enter their work for this mixed discipline show. A selection panel assesses every entry and last year 593 works by 386 artists in the final exhibition, ranging from leading contemporary names to first time exhibitors. All work is for sale, and the exhibition attracts art-lovers and art-buyers from far and wide.
How to Enter
Artists are encouraged to submit recent work (produced within the last 3 years) and all works must be for sale, with prices predominantly under £10,000. Each artist can submit a maximum of three works, which must not have been exhibited before at the RWA, and there is a submission fee for each entry. If you are interested in submitting your work for the exhibition, please visit our website for details, or if you do not have access to a computer, please contact us using the details in the programme. Submission dates for the 164th Annual Open Exhibition will be 6 July – 24 August 2016. More information will be added to the website shortly.
