Tutors - Hannah Murgatroyd, Laurence Kell and Esmé Clutterbuck

Learn techniques for painting directly from a life model, discovering how to draw with paint, and create the illusion of three dimensional form through understanding how light and shade respond to the skin's surface. Each week, participants will be guided by a different tutor, to experience a range of expressive and observational approaches. Week 1 will explore grisaille, looking at light and dark, and painting through line as well as volume. In week 2, participants will work with a limited palette to gain confidence in colour mixing, and in the final week, students will experiment with an expressive use of colour and a fuller palette. For speed of drying, acrylic paints will be used.
