Many artists have been lucky enough to find a particular subject to which a lifetime's work is then devoted. Mondrian embraced complete abstraction and Monet discovered the great outdoors, each developing a style that is immediately recognisable. This exhibition is a patchwork of styles and subjects which have interested me recently and have drawn me to interpret a different subject matter or feeling. I don't spend hours of time working outdoors. Instead I bring ideas back to my studio, capturing fragments and memories, such as the glint of sparkling sunshine on the sea, the skies changing moods a, flora in springtime, the texture of ceramics, and the distillation of light at dawn and dusk.
