Kate MccGwire's practice explores the binary concepts of beauty and disgust: exploring the play of opposites at an aesthetic, intellectual and visceral level. Referencing Freud’s concept of the unheimlich, her work has a consistent 'otherness' to it that exists beyond our experience of the world. Join the artist as she talks about her artistic process, practice and collecting habits, followed by an opportunity to hear about specific works in-situ in the exhibition Unnatural-Natural History, where the curators Coates and Scary will also be on hand to answer questions. Cost £5 includes entrance to the exhibition, which will be open from 6-6.30pm and then after the talk until 8.30pm.
