Cooper was artist chairman of the RWA during the 1990's |

has exhibited widely in both individual and mixed exhibitions. These have
included shows at the Bloomsbury Workshop London, the Royal Academy, Unesco,
New York, Swansea University and the Rona Gallery, London. |

He has been a prizewinner at the Westward TV Open, South West Open and the
Laing Open at the Mall Galleries, London. |

| Collage
was predominant in his earlier work that was influenced by Kurt Schwitters,
Henri Matisse and Julian Trevelyan. Since 1980 he has produced works in
oils and acrylic that are stylistically reminiscent of Christopher Wood,
L. S. Lowry, Utrillo and the St Ives School. |
