Volunteer with us

Volunteers are essential to all that we do at the RWA. We aim to empower, engage and equip everyone who takes part in our volunteering programme.

The RWA is supported by a large, dedicated team of volunteers who are involved in almost every area of the gallery's operation – from invigilating in the galleries and helping at events and workshops, to assisting the technical team with exhibition installation and handling artwork. The programme is completely flexible and designed to support and develop each individual's interests, goals and abilities – offering lots of exciting opportunities to support Bristol's first art gallery and create an amazing experience for its visitors.

Benefits of volunteering with us include:

  • Invaluable experience within a leading UK art organisation
  • The opportunity to be part of a friendly, creative and dedicated team of volunteers and staff
  • Training opportunities in a range of areas, from artwork handling to social media
  • Social and networking events
  • Flexible shifts with no minimum time commitment
  • Free entry to all RWA exhibitions
  • Discounts in the RWA shop, including exhibition merchandise
  • A dedicated volunteer newsletter

We are always looking for enthusiastic and reliable individuals, of all ages, and backgrounds, to join our friendly, creative, and close-knit volunteer community.

If you have a passion for art and are keen to share this passion with others, we would love to hear from you! To apply to volunteer, please download the Volunteer Application Form below and return your completed form by email or post to:
