This year we have ten artists who have made it through to the final round of selection to become Royal West of England Academicians (RWAs).
Academicians are elected on the basis that they are practising artists or architects of ability and experience, and are professionally active in the UK. The RWA’s categories of art are: painting, printmaking, sculpture and architecture. Applicants should be high-calibre artists making challenging work with a strong level of commitment to developing their practice. They should be represented by galleries with strong national and international reputations, or work with contemporary art organisations and engage in publicly-funded art projects. They must have graduated at least three years prior to applying and have connections with the region.
Academicians can either vote in person at the RWA by visiting the reception desk in the foyer and requesting a voting slip, or this year they can also vote by email. To view each candidate’s submitted work, CV and artist statement just click on their name above.
There are five spaces available this year, therefore Academicians may vote for up to five artists from the list above. Academicians can cast their vote by emailing their selection to Rose Mazillius (firstname.lastname@example.org) Please note all votes must be cast by the 26th January 2014.
