RWA Open Exhibitions

The Royal West of England Academy has two Open exhibitions a year. The first is an exhibition rotating the disciplines of Sculpture, Painting and Printmaking. It attracts contemporary artists both nationally and internationally.

The second Open Exhibition, which is held annually, is the
Autumn Exhibition. It has been in existence for over 150 years, the 155th being the most recent. The Autumn Exhibition is a mixed discipline exhibition, including disciplines such as Painting, Printmaking Sculpture and Architecture. It attracts artists both regionally and nationally.

Call For Entries
The first RWA open exhibition to be devoted entirely to photography will combine the work of invited photographers with selections from an open submission. The aim is to present contemporary approaches to photography in art within a broad range of imagery involving photographic processes. There will be prizes in cash and materials.

Selection Committee
The selection committee will include representatives of the RWA, Photographers, and Academics with a special interest in this field.

Submission Fees
Up to 6 works can be submitted with one image submitted of each work. The price of submission is
£15 (student concession £10) regardless of the number of images submitted.

Entry Process
There will a two-stage selection process and in the first instance selection will be made from jpeg images on CD. These should reach the RWA on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd April 2008. Those successful at stage one will be asked to bring their works to Bristol for the second stage, which will take place in May.
