RWA Open Painting Exhibition
28th March - 9th May 2010

The
Open Painting Exhibition is dedicated solely to the medium of painting. Its aim is to embrace a broad range of styles and media. The exhibition opens to the public on Sunday 28th March at the Royal West of England Academy, in Bristol.

RWA Academicians' Chairman Simon Quadrat, says:
'There are very many fine painters throughout the country, both established and relatively unknown. While styles, subjects and techniques are infinite and varied, what is common to all is dedication to the act of painting. These are the people, many from beyond Bristol, we hope to find and show in this year's Open Painting exhibition.'
The third RWA Open Painting exhibition will be selected by a committee chaired by RWA Artist Chairman Simon Quadrat RWA who will be joined by David Buckman (writer and author of 'Artists in Britain since 1945'), Matthew Hall (London gallery owner specialising in English and Scottish contemporary art), Saied Dai (artist), David Rayson (Head of Painting at Royal College of Art) and Janette Kerr RWA (artist, and Visiting Research Fellow, University of the West of England). The selection will take place on March 7th.
